And the award goes to…

I’ve seen these awards around the web, especially in the blog-o-sphere, but I’ve never really known how anybody received them, until today.

A fellow WordPress blogger, Jackie Paulson, gave our challenge’s blog the Stylish Blogger Award!  Thanks Jackie!

Thank you Sharon

After reading more about this award there are some things that the recipient does upon acceptance…

The Stylish Blogger Award Rules

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award.

Jackie Paulson can be found at:

2. Share 7 things about yourself. (Below)

3. Award 15 great bloggers. (Also below)

4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!

So in keeping with this long-standing blogger award here are the 7 things about Beautiful Existence that you might (or might not) have known about me…

1.  I was raised on a working farm in SW Washington that my parents still own and that will always be my home.  We churned butter, sold milk and eggs, had every animal you can think of, hayed every summer and went through so many floods from living on the Chehalis river that I was fully prepared for the disaster preparedness position that I now hold!  Here is an image of the farm…

2.)  My name was not the name I was born with, I changed it years ago after divorcing an abusive husband and making a dedication for how I wanted to live.

3.)  I have a close family (that pretty much all live in Washington state) and feel that I’m one of the luckiest people in the world to have been given such a precious gift!  (this picture doesn’t do them justice, it’s a picture of a picture)

4.)  I’ve almost died twice… the first time when I was 22 and I flipped off an inner-tube and ended up twisted in the rope under the water and almost drowned.  The second time was last May, right after my C-Section when I awoke from a nap with my baby and was ghost-white.  I ended up suffering a double Pulminary-Embolism which then took over 9 months to get under control.  I’m still being tested to this day for clotting.

5.)  My life-long goal is to work with orphans on touch therapy in relationship to major mental illness, specifically attachment disorders.  I received my passion from my pediatric nurse grandmother who told me when I was younger that if babies weren’t loved they could die.  Her words have never left my mind or my heart since, and neither has she.

6.)  I have this insatiable appetite for knowledge and experience.  It has allowed me to start three businesses without knowing how to, it has helped me break out of my introverted shell and it’s a core part of my personality.

7.)  My children mean the world to me!  There is no greater pleasure, no greater reward in my eyes than that of being a parent!  They are first ones on my mind in the morning and the last ones I think about before I go to bed.  My life has been forever blessed with their presence in this lifetime, and for that… I will be eternally grateful!

As requested, I will be honoring the following blogs with the Stylish Blogger Award. (if they have not already received it!)

  1. Thank you for tagging me, several bloggers were sweet enough to give me the award so I did a little write up earlier this week. It’s always fascinating to find out tid bits about other people! Your ‘near death’ experiences were harrowing to read, it’s good to know you’re doing okay now.

What a wonderful read! I grew up on a farm in Forks. Never had to deal with flooding though. Love the picture of the family…so happy!

  3. Hello Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing this blog, it is really a treat. I had the pleasure of meeting you last year at an art show and I am blown away by what a outstanding person you are, and its really great to see a woman taking control over her life and career like you have, thanks for being such an inspiration to a young artist!

    • Glad you like the challenge & blog and thanks for the kind comments! I hope I end up becoming an inspiration in good ways for others as I grow older… There is no other way to know your life was of real worth in my eyes.
